GLENDALE, AZ — Ole Miss football kicker Lucas Carneiro continues to put his stamp on the Rebels’ run in the College Football Playoff.

Carneiro made a 58-yard field goal at the end of the first half in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 8. The No. 6 Rebels (13-1) are facing No. 10 Miami (12-2) in the semifinals of the CFP at State Farm Stadium. Miami leads 17-13.

The kick is tied for the second-longest field goal in Ole Miss history. Cloyce Hinton made a 59-yard kick against Georgia on Oct. 11, 1969.

Carneiro is a junior from Cornelius, North Carolina. He transferred to Ole Miss from Western Kentucky before the 2025 season. He is 29-for-32 on field goals for the Rebels.

Carnerio was a hero the the Rebels’ previous game when he made a game-winning 47-yard field goal against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. He also made kicks in that game from 55 yards and from 56 yards.
