The Michigan football team suffered a tough blow on Saturday, when the Wolverines lost to Iowa in their Big Ten opener. Iowa defeated Michigan on a walk-off touchdown, that no doubt pleased every Western Michigan fan in America. Following the loss, Michigan is out of the Associated Press Top 25 college football poll.
Michigan dropped out of the top 25, per On3, after sitting at no. 18 the week before. The Wolverines lost 20-19 to Iowa.
The Wolverines are now looking to move on from the loss.

“It was a tough locker room, but told them, hey, it’s a shame we let it get away from us,” Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham said after the contest, per ESPN. “Sometimes in life, you get knocked down and things seem tough and how are you going to overcome that, but that’s life. You have to pick yourself up, get back to work.”
Iowa won by connecting on a 16-yard touchdown pass as time expired. This was the second time this season that the final play decided the outcome of a Michigan game. Michigan defeated Western Michigan to open the season, following a controversial ending.
Whittingham is in his first season coaching at Michigan. He came from Utah, where he turned the Utes into a national power. The head coach takes over a Michigan team looking to turn the page following the turbulent tenure of former head coach Sherrone Moore.
The Wolverines have wins this season over Oklahoma, Western Michigan and UTEP. Michigan is in action again on Saturday, in a Big Ten conference road game against Minnesota. The team also has Big Ten matchups in the coming weeks against Penn State, Indiana and Ohio State.
According to the latest AP poll, the Wolverines are receiving 54 votes.
