After all the speculation, the LSU rumors, and ALL those Lane Kiffin cryptic posts, we have… a statement from Ole Miss Athletic Director Keith Carter about the meeting he had with the school’s Chancellor on Friday.
“While we discuss next steps, we know we cannot lose sight of what is most important — our sixth-ranked team that is poised to finish the regular season in historic fashion,” it read. “Despite the outside noise, Coach Kiffin is focused on preparing our team for the Egg Bowl, and together, we want to ensure that out players and coaches can concentrate fully on next Friday’s game.”
That game? That would be the Nov. 28th game against Mississippi State (AKA the Egg Bowl). So, all good right?
Except, there’s this: “An announcement on Coach Kiffin’s future is expected the Saturday following the game.”
Now: That could mean he’ll say he’s coming back. But if he WAS coming back, wouldn’t the statement SAY that? Hmmm.
Let’s lock in and focus on keeping the Golden Egg! pic.twitter.com/5xPfDozhl2

Ole Miss fans thought Lane Kiffin was out after the statement
This is pretty ominous for Ole Miss fans.
Most people don’t schedule an announcement to say they are staying put. https://t.co/NgxB29Lp5Q

Wouldn’t signing an extension be a great way to help the players focus on the egg bowl for the next week?
Or maybe I’m crazy

If Lane Kiffin was staying, wouldn’t it have been easier to say “he’s staying?”
People can read between the lines..
