The college football transfer portal is in full swing.
As of Jan. 8, 13 former Duke football players have entered the transfer portal while the Blue Devils have brought in nine additions.
The Blue Devils won the 2025 ACC championship and finished their second-season under Manny Diaz 9-5, winning the Sun Bowl over Arizona State on New Years Eve.
The college football transfer portal will remain open for two weeks until Friday, Jan. 16.

Duke football lands running back CJ Campbell from Rutgers, Jan. 7
Campbell will come to Duke as a graduate student from Rutgers, with other stops at Florida State (2022-24) and Florida Atlantic (2024-25). His four-year college career includes 212 carries for 1,144 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns. He will bring experience in a Duke running back room headlined by Nate Sheppard.
Duke adds QB Ari Patu from portal, Jan. 7
A Folsom, California native, Patu spent the 2021-23 seasons at Stanford before transferring to North Alabama for the 2024-25 seasons. Patu threw for 517 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 133 yards and another score. He joins a Duke quarterback room of Darian Mensah, Dan Mahan and Terry Walker III.
North Texas safety Patrick Smith-Young commits to Duke football, Jan. 7
Former North Texas safety Patrick Smith-Young will spend his final year of eligibility with Duke football. The Sugar Land, Texas, native started 12 games for North Texas in 2025, leading the secondary with 73 tackles to go with three pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
Que'Sean Brown enters transfer portal, Jan. 7
Redshirt sophomore Que'Sean Brown entered the portal on Jan. 7. The Winston-Salem native had 105 receptions for 1,291 yards and seven touchdowns through two seasons with the Blue Devils, finishing the year with a season-high two touchdowns in the Sun Bowl. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Duke football CB Moussa Kane enters portal, Jan. 7
Junior cornerback Moussa Kane announced his intentions to enter the portal on Jan. 7. The redshirt sophomore played 128 total snaps for Duke per Pro Football Focus and finished the 2025 season with 17 total tackles, one for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery and two interceptions.
Penn State DT Owen Wafle commits to Duke football, Jan. 6
The 6-foot-2, 192-pound committed to the Blue Devils on Jan. 6, Steve Wiltfong reported. The redshirt freshman out of Middletown, New Jersey recorded four total tackles across nine career games with the Nittany Lions. He was a three-star prospect out of the Hun School and previously played at Michigan.
Jared Richardson becomes Duke's first WR addition in portal, Jan. 5
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported former Penn wide receiver Jared Richardson has committed to Duke football on Jan. 5. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, native finished with 1,030 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 2025, earning All-America honors.
Duke football OL gets boost with Nick Del Grande transfer, Jan. 5
The Blue Devils get some much needed help on their offensive line with the addition of offensive tackle Nick Del Grande from Coastal Carolina. On3 was first to report Grande's transfer on Jan. 5. The Lancaster, Pennsylvania native was a 2025 First-Team Preseason All-Sun Belt selection. He started 10 games at left tackle for Coastal Carolina in 2025.
TE Nate Kurisky commits to Duke football, Jan. 4
Former Louisville tight end Nate Kurisky committed to Duke football on Jan. 4. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Leesburg, Virginia, native had 20 catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns in six starts during the 2025 season. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Montana CB Kyon Loud commits to Duke football, Jan. 4
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported on Jan. 4 that former Montana cornerback Kyon Loud has committed to Duke football. Loud had 25 total tackles in 2025 at Montana with four pass breakups. Per Thamel, Loud is expected to have three years of eligibility remaining.
Duke football gets first transfer portal commitment, Jan. 3
Former Western Kentucky cornerback Dylan Flowers committed to the Blue Devils on Saturday, Jan. 3, becoming Duke's first portal addition. The 5-foot-10, 178-pound Playa Del Rey, California, native has previously also played at College of the Canyons, BYU and Southern Utah. Flowers registered 33 tackles, one tackle for loss, four pass break ups and a forced and recovered fumble in 2025 for the Hilltoppers. He is ranked as the No. 25 cornerback in the transfer portal and the No. 260 prospect overall per 247Sports.
Duke football backup QB enters portal, Jan. 2
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported on Jan. 2 that backup quarterback Henry Belin IV will be entering the portal after four years in Durham. Belin IV made two starts for Duke during that span in 14 games.
Duke football redshirt freshman WR to enter portal, Jan. 2
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Chase Tyler will be entering the portal after appearing in 17 games across two seasons in Durham.
Duke football's Terry Moore to enter transfer portal, Jan. 1
Moore announced he will be entering the portal for his final season of eligibility after having to sit out in 2025 due to a torn ACL suffered in Duke's 2024 bowl game. Coming to Duke as a running back in 2022, Moore made the switch to safety in 2023 and was a Second Team All-American and Second Team All-ACC honoree in 2024.
Duke football defensive lineman to enter NCAA transfer portal, Jan. 1
Redshirt sophomore Desmond Aladuge announced he will be entering the NCAA transfer portal on Jan. 1. He played in 12 career games for Duke, including four in 2025.
Kyren Condoll entering portal CB, Dec. 20
The redshirt freshman cornerback announced his intentions to enter the portal on Dec. 20. Condoll played one snap in 2024 and 29 in 2025 per Pro Football Focus. He is a Fontana, California native.
Safety Kenzy Paul intends to enter portal, Dec. 19
The redshirt sophomore safety from La Prairie, Quebec, Canada is the latest Blue Devil to enter the portal on Friday, Dec. 19. Paul played in one game in 2023 and did not see the field in 2025. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Terry Simmons to enter portal, Dec. 19
On3 was first to report Simmons' intentions to enter the transfer portal on Friday, Dec. 19. The redshirt sophomore played 48 snaps in 2025 per Pro Football Focus. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Offensive lineman Jack Small entering portal, Dec. 18
The offensive lineman announced his intentions to enter the portal with three years of eligibility on Dec. 18. The redshirt freshman did not see the field in 2024 and played three snaps in 2025 per Pro Football Focus.
Tight end Vance Bolyard announces portal intentions, Dec. 16
Bolyard announced his intentions to enter the portal on Tuesday, Dec. 16 on social media. The redshirt sophomore enrolled at Duke in January 2023 and will have two years of eligibility. Heading into the 2025 season, Bolyard had appeared in 11 games for Duke with 90 snaps.
Vontae Floyd second DB to enter portal, Dec. 11
Sophomore cornerback Vontae Floyd announced his intentions to enter the portal on Dec. 11. Floyd saw time in three games for Duke in 2025 (vs. Illinois, Tulane and NC State) but struggled with an injury. He saw time in 11 games in 2024 with eight tackles and a fumble recovery. Floyd will have a redshirt year, plus three seasons of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
Duke football safety Maliki Wright to transfer, Dec. 9
The freshman safety took to social media to announce his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9. Wright was a part of Duke's 2025 signing classes and enrolled early in January. He did not see the field during the season. A three-star prospect out of Orlando, Florida, Wright will have four years of eligibility remaining.
RB Peyton Jones first Duke football player to enter portal, Dec. 8
On3's Pete Nakos first reported Jones' intentions to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 8. The junior running back saw his playing time dwindle in 2025 and appeared in just four games for Duke during the season, not playing since Duke hosted NC State Sept. 20. He played in 30 games during his time in Durham, with 112 career carries for 422 yards rushing and five touchdowns. Jones will have two years of eligibility remaining.
When does the transfer portal open, close?
College football’s transfer portal opens on Jan. 2, the day after the College Football Playoff quarterfinals, and closes Jan. 16. With the spring portal window in April no longer a part of the schedule, that two-week period in January is the only open window for teams to add via the transfer portal in 2026.
