At 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, Dunham School's Elijah Haven looks every bit the prototype of a future college star. But what sets him apart isn't just his frame; it's the way he is already rewriting Louisiana's record books while still only a junior.

This season, Haven led Dunham to a historic LHSAA Division III Select state championship, the school’s first in decades. In the title game at the Superdome, he delivered a performance that cemented his reputation as one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects with 271 passing yards, three touchdowns, a 72 percent completion rate, plus 150 rushing yards and two more scores.

Named MVP of the championship, Haven showcased the dual-threat ability that has made him a nightmare for defenses across the state.

His play earned him a spot as a finalist on the ALL-USA Southeast Football Team, which will be announced the week of December 22. This also makes him a finalist for the national ALL-USA Football Team. This "All-American Team" will be released on December 30,

Across his junior season, Haven’s numbers were staggering. He threw for 3,920 yards and 62 touchdowns, adding 794 rushing yards and 11 rushing scores and accounted for over 4,700 total yards of offense.

His consistency was remarkable. He threw for at least three touchdowns in every game this season, and threw for six touchdowns four times. He had multiple games with 300-plus passing yards, including 368 against Lafayette Christian and 311 against Newman. These stats built on a sophomore campaign where he earned MaxPreps National Sophomore Player of the Year honors, posting 3,137 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and 948 rushing yards with 21 rushing scores.

In just three years, Haven has already surpassed 11,000 career yards of offense and more than 170 total touchdowns, numbers that place him among the most productive quarterbacks in Louisiana history.

Naturally, Haven is being highly recruited. Reportedly, Alabama leads the race with multiple crystal ball predictions in its favor, but LSU, Florida, Georgia and Penn State are all heavily involved. Haven has already taken unofficial visits to several of these programs.

Scouts rave about his skill set. Andrew Ivins of 247Sports compared him to NFL veteran Jacoby Brissett, calling him a “supersized quarterback with first-round pick potential.” His strengths include quick release, vertical passing accuracy and the ability to extend plays with his legs.

He’s also a multi-sport athlete, earning Louisiana Class 2A All-State honors in basketball as a freshman and sophomore, a testament to his athletic versatility.

As a sophomore, Haven guided Dunham to a 14-1 record and a state title appearance, showing poise in comeback situations and toughness under pressure. This year, he delivered the ultimate payoff in a championship that will be remembered in Baton Rouge for years to come.
