USC football has its own quarterback drama to deal with. Husan Longstreet leaving the program raises questions about the 2026 backup and 2027 starter. Oregon football is facing its own intriguing quarterback situation. Dante Moore and Dylan Raiola are part of it, as College Sports Wire notes:
"In the transfer portal era, there's one school that has stood as one of the best in the nation when it comes to taking in highly-rated, but underperforming quarterbacks, and turning them into stars. They did it with Auburn's Bo Nix, Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel, and UCLA's Dante Moore.
"That team is the Oregon Ducks, and over the past five years, they've done a great job of rebranding themselves as QB Rehab U. It appears that former Nebraska Cornhuskers star Dylan Raiola is looking to admit himself.
"Since entering his name in the portal earlier this month, things have been quiet for Raiola, who is rated as the No. 5 QB in the portal. The former No. 2 QB in the 2024 recruiting class has garnered some interest from several schools, but it wasn't until this weekend that things started to be put into motion."
Dylan Raiola is not an elite quarterback, but he isn't a terrible one, either. The best outcome for Oregon would probably be to have Dante Moore come back for 2026 and Dylan Raiola sit before starting in 2027. If Moore leaves, however, Raiola starting for the Ducks in 2026 would be a dream scenario for USC. It's hard to see Oregon maintaining its high standard if Raiola is pressed into service as QB1 in Eugene.
