Dylan Raiola is leaving the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Raiola intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal following his broken fibula in late November, as reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel. The former Nebraska quarterback has two years of eligibility remaining with the 2027 NFL Draft representing his earliest departure from college football.

Before his injury, Raiola was playing well and showing significant improvement over his freshman season. Raiola threw for 2000 yards and 18 touchdowns in nine games. Now, the 20-year-old quarterback will have a new home after two seasons with Nebraska.

There will be plenty of schools in the mix to land Raiola, as he could be a quarterback capable of leading a team to the College Football Playoff. Below, we dive into five landing spots for Raiola after entering the NCAA transfer portal.

LSU Tigers

The LSU Tigers have been in the market for a quarterback, and Raiola could be head coach Lane Kiffin‘s first big transfer. With Garrett Nussmeier out of eligibility, LSU will have a new quarterback in 2026. The 20-year-old quarterback has the potential to become a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, and an offensive mind like Kiffin would be great for his development.

Alabama Crimson Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide still has work to do in the College Football Playoff, but Ty Simpson could declare for the 2026 NFL Draft. If so, Raiola would be an attractive option for Alabama, as head coach Kalen DeBoer looks to bring the school back to the top. Much like Kiffin and LSU, Alabama would be a good landing spot for his development.

Indiana Hoosiers

The Indiana Hoosiers are the best team in college football entering the playoffs and would be an outstanding fit for Raiola. In fact, Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza transferred to the school for the 2025-’26 season and will likely leave as the strong favorite for the first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. If the young quarterback wants an opportunity to compete at a high level, Indiana would be a great pick.

Miami Hurricanes

The Miami Hurricanes will lose Carson Beck to the NFL, making them an intriguing destination. Miami has been strong with Beck and Cam Ward over the last two seasons, so college success and development are possible with head coach Mario Cristobal. Miami might not be as loaded as other schools, but it would be a fantastic fit and earn him a nice chunk of NIL money.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

The Texas Tech Red Raiders could make the Raiola/Patrick Mahomes comparisons even more true. With Behren Morton out of eligibility, Raiola could join Mahomes’ new school if the NIL money is right. Texas Tech earned a bye in the College Football Playoff this year, and Raiola could help the school reach even higher goals next year.
