EA Sports ranking of toughest places to play in College Football 27

EA Sports is back in the college football headlines with the much-anticipated release of EA Sports College Football 27 quickly approaching.

The game is once again setting up its release date with a series of rankings that highlight the game in various ways. The first rankings shared by EA Sports center on the top 25 toughest places to play in College Football 27. With the game emphasizing home-field advantage, the toughest places to play rankings matter significantly to gamers.

College football stadium atmospheres are often talked about. If you’ve ever attended a college football game, you know there is a great deal of truth to the belief that a good home stadium can lead to wins.

EA Sports is once again doing a brilliant job unveiling its latest installment of the popular college football game, capitalizing on fans’ enthusiasm for the release with a full-blown “ratings schedule” for the entire week.

Colorado‘s Folsom Field is not ranked among the top 25, but Utah and BYU’s home venues make the list, representing the Big 12. However, no Big 12 stadium made the top 10.

Let’s take a look at the video game’s ranking of the toughest places to play college football.

1. Tiger Stadium, LSU

Affectionately dubbed “Death Valley,” it is no surprise to see LSU’s home venue slotted as the toughest place to play in EA Sports College Football 27. With a capacity of more than 102,000, it deserves the top spot.

Tiger Stadium holds onto the top spot for the second year in a row.

2. Ohio Stadium, Ohio State

Around 30% of the Ohio Stadium at kickoff of the Ohio State-Tennessee College Football Playoff game was Volunteers fans.

The Buckeyes move up to No. 2, and “The Shoe” is going to be rocking once again. In the game, you should be able to hear 102,000 fans chanting “O-H” and “I-O” as you try to drive down the field.

3. Beaver Stadium, Penn State

Penn State’s “White Out” at Beaver Stadium is the best game-day experience in college football. A 106,000-seat stadium decked out in white is a sight to behold, both in person and virtually, in College Football 27. But after a down season on the field, Penn State’s home venue drops one spot to No. 3.

4. Sanford Stadium, Georgia

Sanford Stadium is a classic college football venue. Rimmed with green hedges around the field, the stadium is consistently one of college football’s loudest and once again holds the No. 4 spot.

5. Bryant-Denny Stadium, Alabama

Alabama’s home venue retains its rightful place among college football’s top 5 stadiums.

6. Autzen Stadium, Oregon

A newer stadium, but one deserving of a spot in the top 10, moving up from No. 9. The toughest place to play on the West Coast, and the Ducks make it that way with just under 60,000 fans.

7. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Florida

Ben Hill Griffin Stadium holds steady at No. 7. “The Swamp” is a tough road venue that tends to funnel all the crowd noise to the base of the stadium, making it a challenging environment for any road team.

8. Neyland Stadium, Tennessee

Neyland makes a huge jump, going from No. 12 in College Football 26 all the way into the top 10 this year. The Vols’ home venue should have been in the top 10 last year.

9. Memorial Stadium, Clemson

The famed tradition at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium is for the Tigers’ players and coaches to run down The Hill after touching Howard’s Rock. But the Tigers’ home field takes a big hit in this year’s rankings, falling to No. 9 after being at No. 6 a year ago.

10. Kyle Field, Texas A&M

Kyle Field was No. 1 in 2025, but fell back to No. 11 last year. The home of the Aggies is back in the top 10 after a College Football Playoff appearance last year.
