MADISON – Wisconsin football fans who had the 2026 matchup with Pittsburgh circled on the calendar should brace for an Eagle invasion instead.
Eastern Michigan will face the Badgers on Sept. 19 at Camp Randall Stadium instead of Pitt. According to Pitt’s official website, it and Wisconsin mutually agreed to cancel the game.
UW and Pitt, however, still are scheduled to play in Dublin, Ireland, on Aug. 28, 2027, in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.
Eastern Michigan went 4-8 this season and finished tied for seventh in the Mid-American Conference with a 3-5 record. The Badgers last played the Eagles in 2021 and scored a 34-7 win at home.
Here is how the Badgers' nonconference schedule next season unfolds:
- Notre Dame: Sunday, Sept. 6, at Lambeau Field.
- Western Illinois: Saturday, Sept. 12, at Camp Randall Stadium.
- Eastern Michigan: Saturday, Sept. 19, at Camp Randall Stadium.
The Big Ten schedule has not been finalized, but UW will face Michigan State, Minnesota, Rutgers and USC at home and play Iowa, Maryland, Penn State, Purdue and UCLA on the road.
