Elite in-state RB visiting Florida State on Sunday

Florida State has kicked off its official visits for the summer, and a ton of key talent will be on campus. On Sunday, they'll host one of the top uncommitted running backs in the 2028 recruiting class for an unofficial visit.

Anthony Howard Jr., a four-star prospect and frequent visitor of the Seminoles, announced on social media that he'd be in Tallahassee once again.

"Back In Tallahassee Tmrw🍢🍢 #Gonoles??," Howard said.

Howard is the No. 296 overall recruit and the nation's No. 23 running back per 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Florida, he's the No. 38 prospect.

The first trip for Howard to see FSU came at a summer camp on June 16, 2024, and he was extended a scholarship offer as well. He attended their Seminoles Showcase that July, and he was on campus when they played the Clemson Tigers that October.

Howard had the most in-person contact with Florida State in 2025. After a Junior Day visit that February and competing at their Elite Camp that June, Howard witnessed three games at Doak Campbell Stadium. He attended their season opener against the Alabama Crimson Tide, plus games against the Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Tech Hokies.

His best season came as a freshman at Auburndale High School. Howard finished with 95 carries, 754 all-purpose yards, and seven touchdowns. As a sophomore, he rushed for 77 yards on 15 attempts at IMG Academy. He transferred back to Auburndale for his junior year.

Howard has offers from the Ohio State Buckeyes, Florida Gators, Tennessee Volunteers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Miami, and more. FSU does not have a commitment in the 2028 recruiting cycle.
