Nebraska refuses to go away in the recruitment of Ruston (La.) four-star tight end Ahmad Hudson. According to HuskerOnline, the standout LSU commit is returning to Lincoln for another visit this weekend.
The 6-foot-6, 245-pounder is expected back at Memorial Stadium as the Huskers host Maryland. It’s Hudson’s first visit to Nebraska since he took an official visit back in June and his fifth trip to the Big Ten program overall. LSU has held his commitment since May 3.

Hudson is the No. 37 overall prospect and No. 2 TE in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 prospect in The Boot.
He also doubles as a blue-chip basketball prospect (No. 24 NATL., No. 5 center) and intends on playing both sports at the college level. Nebraska has long been running second in his recruitment, but it continues to give LSU a run for its money. Getting a visit this late in the process is notable for head coach Matt Rhule and Co.
LSU did get Hudson back to Baton Rouge twice last month. His mother, Britt Hassen, continued to speak highly of the Tigers when discussing Hudson’s recruitment with Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman on Sept. 14:
“Everything is going great,” Hassen said after her family’s visit back to Tiger Stadium. “It’s always exciting to get to Baton Rouge to enjoy the experience of Death Valley. The Coaches are always excited to see the boys.”
“I think the biggest thing has been how genuine and consistent they’ve been with both Ahmad and Branson,” she continued on the visit. “The coaches and JR (Belton) have made an effort to build relationships with them beyond just football, and as a mom, I think that naturally helps them feel comfortable and welcomed whenever they’re back at LSU.”
Despite LSU doing all it can to keep Hudson in the fold, he’s now reportedly making the trip back to the Midwest this weekend. Nebraska five-star quarterback commit Trae Taylor has been an elite player recruiter and he’s been after Hudson for a long time.
“Just how they have a family feeling,” Hudson previously told Rivals about what interests him in Lincoln. “Being at Nebraska feels like I’m in Ruston, Louisiana. What excites me is how they get the ball to the tight end in multiple ways. And they told me they would use me in a whole bunch of ways that I like.”
Hudson is the top-ranked commit in LSU’s 2027 class — which ranks 10th nationally, per the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Nebraska currently has the No. 18 class, but it would shoot up the rankings if it were able to flip Hudson away from the Tigers.
