Texas A&M (11-1, 7-1 SEC) is just two days away from hosting Miami (10-2) in the first round of the College Football Playoff, and knowing that this will likely be the most competitive game of the weekend, outside of Alabama vs. Oklahoma on Friday night.

Earlier this week, popular college football personality Pat McAfee, who is also one of the five hosts of ESPN’s “College Gameday,” spilled the beans that the flagship show was headed to College Station for Saturday’s matchup. For the first time since the 2024 regular season finale between Texas A&M and Texas, College Gameday will be back in CSTAT for the CFP, and a familiar guest picker has been announced.

A fixture in Kyle Field since his playing days, former Texas A&M star quarterback and the program’s second Heisman winner, Johnny Manziel, will be the guest picker on Saturday before Texas A&M vs. Miami. In contrast, former Oklahoma linebacker Brian Boswell will be the representative ahead of Friday’s game in Norman.

While plenty of former Texas A&M standouts could have been selected for this appearance, including future Hall of Fame defensive ends Myles Garrett and Von Miller, Manziel, who finished his record-setting career with 7,820 passing yards and 63 touchdowns, and 2,168 rushing yards and 30 rushing scores in just two seasons is still highly visible in the public domain, and remains one of the program’s biggest supporters.

Texas A&M will host Miami on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with coverage on ABC and ESPN.
