It’s a massive weekend of college football, and ESPN College GameDay will be on hand in Alabama for the big showdown between Georgia and the Crimson Tide. It’s a No. 6 vs. No. 2 showdown and all eyes will be on the game.
And with the game being played in Alabama, there was an obvious choice for College GameDay to get as the celebrity picker. Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Carolina Panthers starting quarterback Bryce Young announced he would be on the show this Saturday as the picker.
Young was a Heisman Trophy winner for Alabama back in 2021 as a sophomore. It was his first full-time season as a starter, and he threw for 4,872 yards, 47 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. Young currently leads the NFL in passing through four weeks. He has 1,268 yards this season and has cemented himself as the Franchise signal-caller for the Panthers.

Game is facing extreme conditions
Hurricane Isaias is threatening the massive game on Saturday. As of now, the Bulldogs are prepared to take on the Crimson Tide in Alabama, but there has been talk of the game potentially being postponed or moved.
Assuming the game is played, it’s likely going to be under bad weather. Wind and rain, which will make for an old-school showdown. Both teams have a good defense, but Georgia is clearly the better team at running the football.
Georgia is led by Nate Frazier, who is its star back, and Alabama will have to be dialed in on him this weekend. The Bulldogs got some bad news on Wednesday night as Chauncy Bowen was ruled OUT for the game. Bowen has 124 yards and six touchdowns on the season.
As for Alabama, running back Daniel Hill leads the team with 247 yards and four scores.
