The Auburn Tigers picked up the biggest upset of the college football season on Saturday with a 27-24 win over then No. 1 Georgia. Did Auburn's win bump them up in the ESPN Football Power Index rankings?

The win over the Bulldogs resulted in a big jump in the ESPN FPI. Auburn was No. 31 last week after taking a bye in Week 6. Auburn also increased its forecast to win six games and earn a postseason bowl bid.

Auburn snapped a few streaks on Saturday by defeating Georgia. It was their first victory in Athens since 2005 when Tommy Tuberville was the head coach. The win also snapped a nine-game losing streak to Georgia dating back to the 2017 SEC Championship. Head coach Alex Golesh has the program heading in the right direction with some solid momentum.

Here is where Auburn stands after the upset victory over Georgia.

Overall: No. 21

Auburn jumped 10 spots to No. 21 after defeating Georgia. The previous week, Auburn had dropped from No. 24 to No. 31 despite coming off their bye week. Their overall ESPN FPI rating after six games is 13.4. For Georgia, the loss only dropped them from No. 2 to No. 3. Auburn's upcoming opponent, LSU, stayed at No. 8. Among SEC teams, Auburn is ranked ninth. The Florida Gators moved from No. 25 to No. 19. Georgia remains the top team from the SEC in the ESPN FPI ranking.

Chance to win six games

The win put the Tigers in a great position to win six games. Last week, Auburn had a 68.5% chance to win six games. Now, that projection is up to 96% with the win over Georgia. Most projections had Auburn at 5-7, but now at least seven wins seems possible. They are not projected for 7.2 wins this season.

Early Auburn versus LSU prediction

Auburn returns home on Saturday in what should be an excited Jordan-Hare Stadium. They will also once again be the underdog. The ESPN Matchup Predictor currently gives Auburn a 28.7% chance to beat Lane Kiffin and LSU. Auburn should have the confidence and will not be bothered by LSU and their ranking. Both of LSU's losses this season were both on the road at Ole Miss and Kentucky.
