ESPN predicts Texas A&M Week 4 road matchup vs. LSU

Texas A&M's 2026 season may come down to winning in Baton Rouge vs. LSU for the second straight season after falling to Kentucky 31-21 in Week 3, while the Tigers, coming off an emotional 32-24 road loss to Ole Miss, are looking for revenge under new head coach Lane Kiffin, who was undefeated against Texas A&M during his time with the Rebels.

Third-year coach Mike Elko said during his weekly Aggie Football Hour on Wednesday that the Aggies are much more focused after a solid week of practice, and he continued to defend starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who threw two interceptions against the Wildcats. No one, including me, knows how A&M will respond, but the pressure is on, especially from the fan base.

The Aggies will avoid facing LSU star tight end Trey'Dez Green, who was officially listed as out for Saturday's game, while Texas A&M freshman running back KJ Edwards will return after leaving the game against Kentucky. If the Aggies have any legitimate shot at an upset, Marcel Reed will need to play with less mental strain and remember that the only opinions that matter come from his coaching staff and his teammates.

Still, given the circumstances, the ESPN Matchup Predictor still has LSU as a heavy favorite to protect home field, giving the Tigers a 62.8% chance to win, compared to Texas A&M's 37.2% chance to secure the upset.

Under Mike Elko and Marcel Reed as the starter, Texas A&M is undefeated vs. LSU, defeating the Tigers 38-23 in Kyle Field in 2024 and 49-25 in Baton Rouge last season.
