ESPN ranks five Alabama games among Top 100 best from 2025 season

ESPN's Bill Connelly has officially released his list of the Top 100 games in college football during the 2025 season.
Alabama has a total of five games that made the list, as the Tide found themselves in numerous nail-biters throughout the course of last season. Alabama ended the 2025 campaign with a record of 11-4, as the Tide produced a multitude of signature moments throughout all 15 games of play.
Here's an in-depth look at the five Alabama games mentioned on ESPN's Top 100 games of the 2025 season list.
Alabama at Missouri (Oct. 11)
- Ranking: No. 85
- Final Score: Alabama 27, Missouri 24
The Tide were faced with a crucial SEC matchup on the road against Missouri. Ty Simpson threw for a total of 200 yards along with three touchdowns, as the Alabama offense was elite in the second half following a slow start early on in the contest. Alabama was excellent on the defensive side of the football as well, as the Tide were ultimately able to leave Missouri with a win despite the matchup being extremely close.
Alabama vs. Oklahoma (Nov. 15)
- Ranking: No. 75
- Final Score: Alabama 21, Oklahoma 23
Alabama suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Oklahoma Sooners in Tuscaloosa. Sophomore kicker Conor Talty missed a crucial field goal, and the Tide were unable to complete the comeback despite having an excellent opportunity late in the game. Alabama's defense recorded two total sacks throughout the contest, but ultimately the Sooners left Tuscaloosa with a victory over the Tide.
Alabama at Auburn (Nov. 29)
- Ranking: No. 36
- Final Score: Alabama 27, Auburn 20
The Tide found themselves in a fight to keep their CFP hopes alive during the final matchup of the regular season at Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Alabama took an authoritative 17-0 lead to begin the contest, but the Tigers were able to fight their way back, and ultimately tied the game at 20 a piece with 11:43 remaining. Ty Simpson was able to find Isaiah Horton in the back of the end zone for a game winning touchdown moments later, as the Tide were able to secure the road victory.
Alabama at South Carolina (Oct. 25)
- Ranking: No. 31
- Final Score: Alabama 29, South Carolina 22
The Tide found themselves in yet another close contest against an SEC opponent on the road. South Carolina was able to record 16 straight points to give them a 22-14 lead with 10 minutes remaining, but Simpson and the Alabama offense were able to regroup and eventually drove down the field for a game winning touchdown. The Gamecocks would then receive the ball back with a chance to win, but a LaNorris Sellers fumble on the final drive of the game proved to be the final dagger for South Carolina.
Alabama at Georgia (Sept. 27)
- Ranking: No. 25
- Final Score: Alabama 24, Georgia 21
Alabama found themselves on the road in Athens to face head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs to begin SEC play. The Tide led the Bulldogs 24-14 at halftime, but Georgia was able to score midway through the third quarter and continued to keep things close throughout the entirety of the second half. Alabama ultimately defeated the Bulldogs 24-21, while sending a major message to the entire college football world as well.
