ESPN's 'College Gameday' crew picks Texas A&M vs. LSU in Week 4

No. 23 Texas A&M (2-1, 0-1 SEC) is just seven hours away from facing No. 10 LSU (2-1, 0-1 SEC) in Baton Rouge for the second straight season, as both teams are coming off losses in Week 3, while the Aggies' 31-21 home loss to unranked Kentucky was much more telling than the Tigers' loss to Ole Miss in Oxford.

Third-year coach Mike Elko and starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who both received the bulk of the blame for the Kentucky loss, are well aware that changes need to be made this week, starting with Reed playing with less mental strain, while Texas A&M's defensive struggles lie at the feet of Elko and first-year defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill's game plan and play calling.

However, blaming the coaching staff, especially first-year OC Holmon Wiggins, isn't entirely fair given the lack of effort seen on film from the Aggies' defensive line and linebacker rotation in the second half vs. Kentucky, paired with a secondary that has struggled in two straight games, including several blown coverages.

Saturday's primetime matchup vs. LSU will tell us everything we need to know about Texas A&M this season, good or bad. On Saturday, ESPN's College GameDay crew, including guest picker Johnny Knoxville, picked Texas A&M vs. LSU: Desmond Howard and Knoxville picked Texas A&M, while Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, and Kirk Herbstreit picked the Tigers to win at home.

Since 2022, Texas A&M is 3-1 vs. LSU, including last season's 49-25 blowout win in Tiger Stadium.
