The Colorado Buffaloes are coming off back-to-back blowout losses, and Buffs fans want answers.

Head coach Deion Sanders, who has been the only spokesperson for the program over the last week, spoke to the media on Tuesday, attempting to provide answers on why his team is struggling mightily.

Most notably, Sanders said some coaching staff changes could have occurred, but he did not announce any specifics. He also confirmed a previous report that true freshman Julian Lewis will start at quarterback for the Buffs against West Virginia.

Here is everything Sanders had to say ahead of his team's Week 11 contest against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Sanders confirms Julian Lewis will start at quarterback

Sanders says he is starting Lewis out of "common sense." Both West Virginia and Colorado will have true freshmen starting at quarterback.

On his message to Colorado fans

Sanders: We have the best fan base in college football. Supportive, loving, caring. I don't want to be an apologetic guy, but we're not playing well right now. They deserve more.

On things trending in the right direction despite the recent losses

Sanders: They're practicing right… They're accountable. The coaches are accountable for what they're doing

On why players are not being made available to the media

Sanders: Everything is fair that you guys [the media] until it gets personal…I want to protect them. I have a fatherly spirit. I know the room's temperature.

On possible coaching staff changes

Sanders: I might have already changed it, and you don't know. I don't make major announcements. I don't do that kind of stuff, and I let you guys still take shots, even though you may be shooting at the wrong target, because there is information you are not privy to.
