Former Exeter High School star Joey Schlaffer is no longer on the Penn State football roster.
Blue-White Illustrated first reported the news about the 6-5, 250-pound Schlaffer, who was in his third year with the Nittany Lions. He has two years of eligibility left.
He caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Grunkemeyer against Villanova in September, the only catch of his college career.
He played in three games this season and in four games last season. He was not on the Penn State travel roster the last two games at Ohio State and Iowa.
Schlaffer led Exeter to a 12-1 record as a senior in 2022, catching 38 passes for 879 yards and nine touchdowns and rushing for 246 yards and three TDs.
A four-year starter, he set Berks County career records for receiving yards (2,493) and receiving touchdowns (28).
