‘F Lane Kiffin’ chant rings in College GameDay ahead of LSU-Ole Miss game

Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers are playing the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday night. It is the first time that Kiffin has returned to Oxford, Mississippi since he abandoned the school in the middle of a College Football Playoff run to take the LSU job. Fans did not welcome him back with open arms.

Instead they started the morning chanting “F— Lane Kiffin.” Some of those very loud chants were very clearly audible during the “College GameDay” broadcast. For once, Pat McAfee didn’t even have to encourage the profane chants. Rebels fans had probably been screaming similar things all morning and we can be reasonably certain it will continue throughout the day and deep into the night.

Here’s the first and maybe most prominent chant that could be heard on ESPN:

Yeah, that’s a high quality, high definition chant right there. It’s simple, but also conveys a very complex message in an efficient and straight to the point manner. There’s no ambiguity. They do not like Kiffin at Ole Miss.

Kiffin spent six years at the school. When he arrived in 2020 they went 5-5, but then turned into a contender. They won 10-plus games in four of his last five seasons there, went to six straight bowl games including a trip to the CFP last season. Of course, he parlayed that into a better job and bounced, which is why they’re chanting mean things about him on campus today.
