FAMU football's 2026 schedule and Quinn Gray's inaugural coaching staff

There’s been nonstop movement at Florida A&M football.
Last December, the program hired its Hall of Fame quarterback, Quinn Fordham Gray Sr., away from Albany State to become the 20th head football coach. FAMU signed Gray to a five-year contract worth $1.4 million to replace former head coach James Colzie III after two seasons.
Gray has since focused on NCAA Transfer Portal recruiting and roster retention, while fundraising efforts have been launched to support his success on the job.
On Jan. 25, the newly hired FAMU coach announced his inaugural staff of assistants. The staff includes former Florida State Seminoles star wide receiver and assistant Ron Dugans and top Football Championship Subdivision defensive coordinator Ryan Lewis Sr., whose Alabama State units performed near the top of the nation.
Jan. 26 saw FAMU football’s 2026 schedule get released. The Rattlers will open the season hosting Gray’s former team, the Albany State Golden Rams, on Ken Riley Field at Bragg Memorial Stadium.
