DJ Lagway is in the building – and for some Florida State fans, that raises eyebrows.
The former Florida quarterback entered the transfer portal after a disappointing 4-8 season for the Gators.
Lagway, who finished the year completing 213 of 337 passes for 2,264 yards, 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, arrived at FSU’s football facility Monday, Jan. 5.
Over his two-year career, Lagway has thrown for 2,179 yards with 28 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.
He’s 2-0 against the Seminoles. In this past season’s finale, Lagway tossed three touchdown passes to help Florida secure the win. The Texas native is also considering Baylor, LSU, Miami, Louisville, Virginia and Clemson.
Lagway is regarded as a pure passer with NFL traits, but questions remain about his fit in Gus Malzahn’s offense. While he has the arm talent, he has struggled with consistency and turnovers.
Still, that hasn’t stopped Florida State from taking a swing at the sophomore quarterback.
