Fiesta Sports Foundation brings special guests to Scottsdale for Football Kickoff event

SCOTTSDALE – College football doesn’t wait for kickoff to start creating headlines. In Arizona, that conversation begins with the Fiesta Sports Foundation. The organization behind the Fiesta Bowl is preparing to host its kickoff event at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, bringing together two figures with very different, but equally important, perspectives on the sport’s future. Former Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick will headline the event alongside Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy.

Fiesta Sports Foundation brings kickoff event to Scottsdale:
Swarbrick’s presence carries particular significance. During his tenure at Notre Dame, he became one of college athletics’ most influential administrators and a major voice in the evolution of the College Football Playoff. Gundy, meanwhile, represents the coaching side of the sport after decades of navigating conference realignment, recruiting changes and the increasingly complicated business of college football. That combination makes this more than another preseason appearance.

For Arizona, the Fiesta Bowl has long provided the state with a national stage. Events like this help maintain that relevance even before the postseason arrives.
