Five-star defensive end KJ Green committed to LSU football on Sunday, giving his word to the Tigers after an official visit in Baton Rouge. Green's commitment comes less than a week after LSU lost five-star defensive end Jaiden Bryant to Miami, but it didn't take Lane Kiffin's staff long to fill the void.
LSU beat out several major programs for Green, who is a Georgia native. LSU offered Green in early 2025 when Brian Kelly was still the head coach, but LSU's defensive staff remained intact when Kiffin took over and the staff didn't take their foot off the gas.
Per 247Sports, Green is the No. 8-ranked recruit in the 2027 class. 247 slots Green as the No. 2 defensive end in the class and No. 2 in the state of Georgia. 247Sports is the only service with Green as a five-star, though. Rivals and ESPN have Green as a four-star.
LSU's class now ranks No. 12 nationally, according to Rivals. LSU expects to sign a top-10 class when it's all said and done, and there's a chance Kiffin inks a top-five class in his first full cycle at LSU.
