During their Junior Day festivities over the weekend, the Washington Huskies hosted one of the nation’s top offensive tackles on an unofficial visit in five-star Oluwasemilore Olubobola from St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey, and Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff made a big impression.
The 6-foot-6, 275-pound prospect, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 17 overall recruit and No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2027 class by 247Sports, announced on social media that he can’t wait to return to Seattle, signaling that another visit of some type, either official or unofficial, is in the works.
“Great time at Washington this weekend!” Olubobola wrote in a post on social media. “Can’t wait to be back!!”

Washington has done an impressive job recruiting the offensive line since Fisch’s arrival, but if offensive line coach Michael Switzer can earn a commitment from the coveted prospect, who holds 36 offers from every corner of the country, that would be a different level of victory for the Huskies as they attempt to establish their national footprint.
That isn’t to say that the Huskies haven’t already shown they can reel in some of the nation’s best prospects after earning signatures from seven of the nation’s top 250 players in the 2026 class—per 247Sports’ rankings and headlined by five-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene—but earning a commitment from Olubobola after extending an offer to him in mid-January would showcase UW’s ability to build strong relationships with some of the nation’s top prospects regardless of location.
Since Fisch’s arrival, the head coach has been pushing to establish a foothold in his home state, which has produced plenty of talent in recent years. The Huskies earned a signature from four-star quarterback Derek Zammit from DePaul Catholic High School in the Garden State in the 2026 class, and are attempting to push further into New Jersey in the 2027 class, led by Olubobola.
The Huskies appear to be looking to get the coveted offensive tackle back on campus for another unofficial visit at some point during spring practice, and want to follow that up with an official visit for the summer months. If Fisch and Switzer can make that happen, it would bode well for not just their standing with Olubobola, but it may help them out with some of their other top targets in the state.
Three-star defensive back Ryan Wooten flanked Olubobola over the weekend, and the Huskies are also hoping to make an impact on some of New Jersey’s top tight ends: four-star Alabama commit Colt Lumpris, three-star Tommy Douglas, and three-star Virginia commit Sean Currie.
