Florida football landed a commitment from Oklahoma State transfer wide receiver Jaylen Lloyd, bringing both speed and big-play experience to a loaded Gators receivers room.

While Lloyd is coming off a quiet stretch statistically at Oklahoma State, his resume tells a more layered story than raw numbers might suggest. During the 2025 season with the Cowboys, he appeared in just two games, logging one rushing attempt for one yard and no receptions.

That limited usage ultimately led Lloyd to explore new opportunities, with Florida emerging as the top choice for the receiver. To understand why the Gators were interested, it helps to look back one year earlier.

In 2024, Lloyd played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and finished the season with 13 receptions for 255 yards in 13 games and made three starts. He averaged nearly 20 yards per reception.

During his freshman season in 2023, Lloyd caught six passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns with an eye-popping 39.5 yards per catch. All three touchdowns covered at least 58 yards, including a 73-yard score.

Florida's interest in Lloyd appears rooted in that upside rather than his most recent stat line. His background as an elite track athlete—particularly in the long jump and sprints—translates directly to his ability to separate downfield.

After a journey that included Nebraska production and a brief Oklahoma State stint, Lloyd now gets a reset in Gainesville. For Florida, the bet is simple: speed like his doesn't disappear—it just needs the right opportunity.
