Florida football edge rusher Tyreak Sapp has accepted an invitation to play in the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl, giving the longtime Gator defender a chance to showcase his game in front of NFL coaches and scouts.

A redshirt senior, Sapp has been a fixture in Gainesville since arriving out of Fort Lauderdale's St. Thomas Aquinas, developing from a rotational contributor into a trusted starter on the edge.

During the 2025 season, Sapp started all 12 games and finished the year with 34 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack and multiple quarterback pressures while logging more than 400 defensive snaps. His impact wasn't always flashy on the stat sheet, but his reliability against the run and ability to set the edge made him a key piece of Florida's defensive structure.

That followed a breakout campaign in which Sapp led the Gators in sacks and tackles for loss in 2024, earning national attention for his efficiency and grading out among the top edge defenders in the conference. Those back-to-back seasons helped solidify his reputation as a defender who understands leverage and how to affect games beyond raw box score numbers.

The Senior Bowl now gives Sapp an opportunity to stack quality reps against elite draft-eligible talent, an environment that often favors players with experience, versatility and football IQ.

As draft season ramps up, his performance in Mobile, Alabama, could go a long way in shaping how scouts at the professional level view one of the Gators' most dependable defensive veterans.
