Florida football has reportedly completed its coaching staff as the Gators are expected to tab Duke’s Chris Foster as the team’s running backs coach, according to various reports.
In his one season with the Blue Devils, Duke’s Nate Sheppard finished second in rushing yards in the ACC as he recorded 962 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Prior to Duke, Foster spent two seasons at Northwestern in the same role. Foster also had stints at East Carolina and Georgia Southern.
The Chesnee, S.C., native started his coaching career at his alma mater, Gardner-Webb, where he led the running backs for eight seasons beginning in 2004 and helped produce a No. 1 total offense ranking in the Big South Conference.
Newly hired Florida head coach Jon Sumrall’s offensive staff now features, Buster Faulkner at offensive coordinator, Joe Craddock as quarterbacks coach, Marcus Davis as wide receivers coach, Phil Trautwein as the offensive line coach and Evan McKissack as the tight ends coach.
The defensive staff is expected to consist of Brad White as defensive coordinator, Gerald Chatman as defensive line coach, Bam Hardman as outside linebackers coach, Greg Gasparato as inside linebacker coach, Chris Collins as safeties coach and Brandon Harrison to lead the cornerbacks.
Johnathan Galante will be the special teams coordinator, and Rusty Whitt will be the strength and conditioning coach.
