Coach Jon Sumrall’s No. 8 Florida football team is rolling with Aaron Philo as quarterback after Philo overcame a stiff challenge to start this offseason. Philo transferred in from Georgia Tech and has led the Gators to four straight wins and four 40-plus point games so far this season.
He has won over one of the Florida football program’s biggest historical enemies, former Georgia defender David Pollack, according to comments made on the offense recently.
“Florida has the hardest offense in college football to defend,” Pollack said. “This is an offense in Florida that scored 50 in a game one time in the previous two seasons…The Florida fans have been yearning for an Urban Meyer-type deal, well, it’s back.”

Pollack called running back Jadan Baugh the best in college football and called he and backup Duke Clark the best running back duo in college football. The Gators ran for 302 yards in their blowout win over Pete Golding’s Ole Miss Rebels on September 26, proving they are capable of excelling both through the air and on the ground.
October 3 brings another tough game for Sumrall’s Gators as they will head to Columbia, Missouri to take on the No. 25 Tigers. Missouri is coming off of a road loss to Mississippi State and will look to rebound by slowing the Gators’ freight train of an offense.
If Pollack’s comments are right, the Gators’ powerful offense will continue rolling against the Tigers. After surging into the top 10, coach Sumrall’s team wants more, and they have the players to make their dreams come true.
