Florida redshirt sophomore running back Treyaun Webb will enter the transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
A four-star recruit out of high school, according to Rivals, Webb signed with Florida as a member of the 2023 class. He chose the Orange and Blue over Georgia, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State. He played right away as a true freshman, appearing in 11 games as a reserve running back and on special teams. Webb ended 2023 with 163 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. He also added four receptions for 18 yards.
Entering 2024, Webb was viewed as the outright backup to Montrell Johnson Jr. Injury ended his season after four games, allowing Webb to take a redshirt but opening the door for Jadan Baugh and Ja’Kobi Jackson to get more reps. He ended his sophomore year with 93 rushing yards and one touchdown on 21 carries.
With Johnson out of eligibility, Webb had a chance to compete for snaps in 2025, albeit with Baugh and Jackson ahead of him on the depth chart. Once again, injury took that opportunity away from him, and Webb was sidelined for the entire season.
There was hope for Webb to return in 2026 behind Baugh, especially with Jackson out of eligibility. Freshman Duke Clark is now the likely backup, assuming Baugh returns, after receiving increased snaps as the 2025 season carried on.
Fawcett reported that Webb has three years of eligibility remaining, indicating a medical redshirt has been granted.
