After securing the commitment of four-star wide receiver Elias Pearl, the Florida Gators are putting the pressure on Jalen Brewster.

The Florida Gators are dominating the recruiting world right now after landing four-star wide receiver Elias Pearl from Port Charlotte, Florida.

Head coach Jon Sumrall is doing a fantastic job recruiting, with 16 commitments right now and the No. 4 overall recruiting class per 247 Sports. Five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller leads it, and he’s not the only five-star they have made a priority.

  • Out of Cedar Hill, Texas, Brewster is the No. 1 overall recruit per ESPN, Rivals, and the Rivals’ Industry Ranking.
  • Brewster has been committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders since 10/4/2025
  • Despite being committed to Texas Tech, Brewster has been on multiple visits to Gainesville.

Florida Gators continue relentless pursuit of Jalen Brewster

The Gators are making waves all across the nation. Last week, the Gators landed in the top-six of 2028 five-star edge rusher Jalanie George out of Arizona, and they are continuing the pursuit of No. 1 overall recruit, five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster.

Defensive line coach Gerald Chatman was back in Texas visiting Brewster on campus, and it’s not a surprise to see him, as he’s been there multiple times before.

The process in which the Gators are using with Brewster is a good one. They aren’t just putting the pressure on and showing him that he’s very important to their future, it’s also the energy in doing so. They are working hard to create separation from the rest of the pack chasing Texas Tech.

They still have work to do, but an official visit potentially being scheduled could swing the tide of his recruitment. Will the Gators be able to get that done? That answer will come with time, but they are keeping the pressure on. With Jon Sumrall’s recruiting ability so far, it’s getting more and more likely that they will be able to get him back on campus.

If Sumrall somehow lands Brewster, it will emphasize how things really are changing in Gainesville.
