Florida football has been hosting recruits during its spring practice season, including a handful this past week. Among those dropping in to see the Gators is four-star wide receiver Anthony Jennings.

The 6-foot, 165-pound pass-catcher out of Ft Lauderdale (Florida) Dillard in the 2027 cycle made an unofficial visit to the Swamp on Thursday, where he got a look at the team during offseason drills as well as some face time with members of the coaching staff. It was not his first trip to Gainesville, but this time he left with a more intimate understanding of how the program is run.

"It was pretty cool actually seeing the college guys and picturing myself out there competing,” Jennings told Gators Online. “I wanted to get a real look at what Florida football is like, and I think I got that.”

Most notably, he had an opportunity to connect with wide receivers coach Marcus Davis and passing game coordinator Trent McKnight, the former of whom is leading the charge in the high school junior's recruitment.

“I met with Coach Davis and Coach McKnight. They had a PowerPoint about themselves and why they want me to be a Gator," Jennings said. “Coach Davis and Coach McKnight are both good guys to be around."

The Sunshine State prospect had a moment with head coach Jon Sumrall, as well as other members of the supporting staff.

"I met with Coach Sumrall after that, then the weight room staff, the trainers, and the nutrition people.”

Jennings already had the Orange and Blue at the top of his preferred collegiate destinations, but this recent visit also allowed him to get a closer look at the program.

“I’ve seen tours and all the nice things at Florida, but any college can show that. I wanted to come back and see the bigger picture. I got to see how these coaches are with their guys. I was on the field with them for a long time, so I got to see everything. They have a new OC, so I wanted to see what his offense is like, and I got to do that, too.”

After the visit, Florida remains firmly at the top of his list of schools.

“It kept my love strong for them, and keeps them at that number 1 spot," he noted. "They’re definitely separating from everyone else. Florida’s staff didn’t just toss me an offer and not keep in touch. They’re always in contact and always trying to get me up on campus. They’ve shown me what Florida football is really all about, and how they’re going to bring this thing back.”
