The list of Florida football players entering the NCAA transfer portal continues to grow after redshirt freshman safety Josiah Davis told On3's Hayes Fawcett of his intent to seek greener pastures on Monday evening.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 199-pound defensive back originally from Nashville, Georgia, arrived in Gainesville as a three-star recruit in 2024. Davis was a two-way player in high school who saw action at quarterback, defensive back and running back his senior year; he was also a multi-sport athlete who played basketball and ran track.

The Peach State product was the No. 36-ranked safety by ESPN and the No. 43 recruit in the state of Georgia by 247Sports during his recruitment.

Davis appeared in four games during his true freshman campaign at defensive back and on special teams, recording just one tackle in the win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs; he played on special teams against the LIU Sharks to open the season, but would not take the field again this fall.

In the classroom, Davis was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2024.

Before coming to Florida, Davis had also eyed the Louisville Cardinals, Kentucky Wildcats, North Carolina State Wolfpack and Tennessee Volunteers. It will be worth keeping an eye on these schools in case he lands with one of them.
