Annapolis (Maryland) edge defender Rion Jackson has added the University of Florida to his official visit schedule over the summer, according to Swamp247.

Jackson is expected in Gainesville from June 11-13, between visits with the Kentucky Wildcats and Auburn Tigers. His first stop will be with the Virginia Tech Hokies at the end of May. Florida offered him back in January, but he hasn't ever made it to campus. Jackson told Swamp247 that he hopes to make his first visit to campus over the spring, before the official visit in the summer.

Virginia Tech has the advantage of hiring former Penn State coach James Franklin, who recruited Jackson to the Nittany Lions before being let go. The Hokies could take early control of this recruiting battle, especially since it's his first stop over the summer.

However, Jackson squeezed in a trip to Kentucky last month, putting the Wildcats near the top as well. Jon Sumrall and Florida's coaching staff must make a strong impression on him to seriously make a push for Jackson's commitment.

Rion Jackson Recruiting Summary

While Jackson holds a three-star rating from 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN consider him a four-star recruit. He also holds that fourth star on both major composite rankings, with 247Sports ranking him No. 309 nationally and No. 27 among edge defenders in the 2027 class.
