Florida football TE Hayden Hansen among top-ranked in transfer portal

The 2026 college football transfer portal opened up on Friday, and among the many looking to make a move from their current schools is former Florida Gators tight end Hayden Hansen.
The 6-foot-8-inch, 269-pound offensive threat originally from Weatherford, Texas, has been in Gainesville since 2022, redshirting his true freshman year before appearing in every game for the Gators over the next three seasons. He started in all but three over that 37-game stretch, recording 57 receptions for 611 yards and five touchdowns while wearing orange and blue.
He was also named to the Mackey Award Watch List this past season, which recognizes top players at tight end from across the nation.
Hansen was a standout in the Swamp, and The Athletic’s Manny Navarro and Sam Khan Jr. both agree that he is also among the top five players available at tight end in the current transfer portal. In fact, they have him ranked third, behind the Iowa State Cyclones’ Benjamin Brahmer and the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes’ Brody Foley, respectively.
The Lone Star State product accomplished a good deal at Florida off the field as well, making the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll (2022-23), followed by a pair of SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll honors (2023-24) before earning his bachelor’s degree in Education Sciences this past fall.
