Florida football is making a strong push for running back target Trey Martin in the 2027 cycle.
Martin is a 5-foot-10-inch, 202-pound athlete from Franklin Parish High School in Winnsboro, Louisiana. The four-star recruit rushed for 1,310 yards and 26 touchdowns during his junior season at Franklin Parish while averaging 11.4 yards per carry.
Florida landed another four-star running back earlier this month when it secured Andrew Beard for the class and the team is fresh off signing four-star wide receiver Elias Pearl. Blue-chip additions like Beard and Pearl have catapulted the Gators‘ team recruiting ranking near the top five nationally as recently as last month.
The Gators recruiting footprint continues to expand into rival SEC territory as new head coach Jon Sumrall works to elevate the program’s national profile and make Florida a premier destination again for the nation’s top recruits.
Trey Martin’s recruiting summary
Martin is slated at No. 199 overall and No. 12 at his position according to 247Sports composite, while On3 industry rankings have him at Nos. 244 and No. 15, respectively. Martin has 23 total offers, including ones from LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas.
Alabama currently holds the strongest odds to sign the four-star running back at 84.2%, followed by Ole Miss at 4.8% and Florida at 4.1%, according to projections from Rivals.
