Recruiting has been red hot for Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall, and it’s set to continue next week.
Over the last 24 hours, Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall has continued his recruiting hot streak. On Monday, he landed a high-upside three-star defensive tackle De’Voun Kendrick, and four-star offensive lineman Peyton Miller followed within a couple of hours.
After five months on the job, Sumrall has landed a fringe top-10 recruiting class after four days, and has secured a whopping ten recruits.
- Five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller
- Four-star quarterback Davin Davidson
- Four-star cornerback Aamaury Fountain
- Four-star offensive lineman Peyton Miller
- Four-star cornerback Amare Nugent
- Four-star wide receiver Anthony Jennings
- Four-star wide receiver Tramond Collins
- Three-star tight end Jackson Ballinger
- Three-star tight end Tommy Douglas
- Three-star defensive lineman De’Voun Kendrick
Florida Gators recruiting target sets commitment date
The next commitment date for the Gators could come next Tuesday, May 5th. Three-star safety Kailib Dillard has set his commitment date for that day, where he will choose between the Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and Oregon Ducks.
If he commits to the Gators, Dillard would be the 11th commitment Sumrall has landed since he took the job. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, product is the 16th-ranked recruit in the state of Oklahoma and the 734th overall recruit per the Rivals’ Industry Ranking in the 2027 class. Rivals on their own has Dillard as a four-star recruit ranking 243rd in the nation. So far, Dillard has been sent three predictions from Rivals’ experts, including Gators Online’s Corey Bender and Blake Alderman.
Safeties coach Chris Collins has been working hard on landing him, and he’s likely going to steal him from, not just the Oklahoma Sooners but also a bitter SEC rival. The Gators currently have a 97.0% prediction on the Rivals’ Recruiting Prediction Machine. No other school right now ranks above a singular percent.
If Dillard commits, it would be massive for the Gators, giving them their third defensive back of the cycle, while being their first safety. Dillard has a chance to improve his stock over the next year, especially with ESPN not having ranked him yet.
