Florida HC Jon Sumrall All But Confirms Wife's Admission on Peculiar Habit

Fair or not, new Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall will face pressure this fall. 

After a 4-8 season in 2025, the Gators should be satisfied with making a bowl game. However, former Florida head coach Steve Spurrier thinks UF can win 10 games under Sumrall this season.

Sumrall has brought intensity to the Gators early in his tenure, and the hype has followed.

Ginny Sumrall, wife of Jon, told Olivia Eisenhauer of WCJB 20 last week that her husband enjoys receiving pedicures during the football season.

“He loves pedicures… That’s his favorite extra thing to do," Ginny said. "Every two weeks during the football season, Jon loves to get a pedicure.”

Some of the replies on social media were unkind to Jon. There's no shame in a football coach getting a pedicure to get his mind right during the season.

Jon's peculiar habit could certainly help him relax before Week 3, when Florida starts SEC play against Auburn on Sept. 19. 

The Florida head coach all but confirmed he receives pedicures during the seasons, posting to X a GIF of the "Dumb and Dumber" pedicure scene.

Sumrall has big ambitions for the upcoming season, noting last year during the SEC Media Days that he has a lot of work to do to turn around the Florida program.

"To Gator Nation, part of why I chose Florida, as a head coach, you become in that role because they have to choose you, but you have to choose them back,” Sumrall said. "Part of why I chose Florida was because of the passion of our fan base. 

"Football matters at the University of Florida. Our fan base cares deeply. We have 18 straight sell-outs through maybe not ideal on-the-field results. We have a long way to go to catch the record at Florida. So, we have to keep moving forward to keep that going."

Some coaches like Lane Kiffin enjoy hot yoga to get through the rigors of the SEC schedule. Sumrall makes sure his nails and feet are ready for a long day of standing on the sideline on Saturdays.
