The status of starting quarterback Aaron Philo is uncertain as the Florida Gators prepare for a massive showdown with the Texas Longhorns, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
According to Zenitz, Philo has "been limited" in practice this week as he deals with an injury. If he is unable to play, Zenitz believes backup Tramell Jones would get the start, the first of his career. Florida will release its first availability report ahead of the game on Wednesday night, which should provide more information on Philo's availability.
Philo, who competed with Jones for the starting job, has started all six of Florida's games this year, completing 105 of his 149 passes (70.4%) for 1,341 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions. He has also run for 104 yards and three touchdowns on 44 carries.

Jones has played in five games this year for Florida, his second with the team. He has thrown for 252 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, completing 23 of his 29 attempts (79.3%). He has five carries for 25 yards.
