Florida reveals retro look honoring Steve Spurrier's Heisman season

Florida has a new coaching staff in place for the 2026 season, and it will also have some new retro threads.

Coach Jon Sumrall previously said the team would likely don throwback uniforms at some point this fall, and on Monday, that uniform combination was revealed. As an homage to the 60th anniversary of Steve Spurrier's Heisman-winning season, the team will wear white jerseys and pants with blue and orange stripes as well as a blue helmet featuring the Gators' old-school "Block F" logo.

Spurrier, a quarterback and later national championship-winning head coach at Florida, became the first of the school's three Heisman Trophy winners in 1966. The Gators have worn similar 1960s throwback concepts before, but this specific uniform combination is unique.

Here's a full look at it.

"I've seen them. Tribute to Coach Spurrier and the 1966 Heisman year. Seen them and excited about them," Sumrall said Monday, per 247Sports. "I look forward to them. Long way off from us actually wearing them, but I do think they're a cool tribute and such a cool look." 

It's not currently clear against which opponent Florida will wear its 2026 throwback uniforms.
