The Florida Gators seem to have struck gold in the last few days when it comes to recruiting.

Just before the Ole Miss game, they secured a commitment from safety Cyion Smith.

Smith, a Florida native, joined fellow in-state recruit Armani Strong as Jon Sumrall's first two recruits.

Now, according to Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, interior offensive lineman Samuel Bailey has also committed to Florida.

The Gators recruiting class is up to three players, but none are more impactful than Bailey.

The Huntsville, Alabama native is currently Rivals No. 23-ranked player in the class of 2028. He's the No. 4 player at his position and is the top player to come out of the state of Alabama.

Other notable schools in the mix for this battle were: Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, and Ole Miss.

Florida's class of 2028 keeps getting better

The winning culture Sumrall is building will certainly help his class of 2028 only get better and better.

For now, it's a three-man class, but all three of those players are incredibly talented. Bailey is by far the highest-ranked player in the class, and he could be a massive presence up front as the Gators look to continue winning in the trenches.

With someone like Jadan Baugh in the backfield, it can't be stressed enough how important building a good offensive line is.

Bailey, who currently plays for Jemison High School, is a top five offensive lineman in the class for a reason.

He stands nearly 6-foot-6, 300 pounds, and is a player this team simply hasn't been able to recruit over the likes of Alabama and Ole Miss.

Suddenly, things are changing. Florida just beat out the Crimson Tide for the best player in the state of Alabama, and it can't be stressed enough how huge of a win this truly is.

Gators could be College Football Playoffs bound

Smith joins Bailey and Strong as two incoming recruits who will have to wait their turn, no doubt, but should they stick with the Gators throughout this recruiting process, they know the sky is the limit with what Sumrall is currently building with this program.

Florida recently skyrocketed into the Top 10 of the AP Top 25, and suddenly, now more than ever, it feels incredibly realistic to think this Gators team could be heading to the College Football Playoffs.

Their work isn't done, far from it, but this team just keeps on winning, as Bailey and Smith were two massive pickups in the span of only a couple of days.
