Florida State Adds All-SEC Offensive Lineman Through Portal

Florida State football has signed former Purdue offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner from the transfer portal. Joiner has two years of eligibility.

Joiner brings experience to this Florida State offense with seventeen combined starts between his time at Purdue and Auburn. He was named to the Freshman All-SEC team in 2024 while with the Tigers.

Florida State lost 35 players to the transfer portal this past cycle, but head Coach Mike Norvell added another 24 transfers.

Adding an experienced lineman like Joiner makes sense considering that Norvell brought in an experienced quarterback in Auburn transfer Ashtyn Daniels and All-SEC running back Tre Wisner from Texas. Neither of those players came cheap, and Norvell needs to maximize its investment; adding a player like Joiner makes that possible.

Last season, as a redshirt sophomore, Joiner started all 12 games for the Boilermakers at center. He allowed just one sack on 475 pass attempts. He also had his best running blocking game against Ball State and earned a grade of 83.2 by PFF in that game.

During his 2024 campaign, Joiner played in 10 games for the Auburn Tigers, starting the final five games at left guard. He only gave up three sacks during the season on 281 pass attempts. His highlight of the season was against Texas A&M, where he earned a PFF grade of 82.5

Joiner did not see any action during his first season as an Auburn Tiger in 2023.

Joiner is from Anniston, Alabama, and attended Auburn High School. He was the No. 1-rated center in the state of Alabama and was a two-time All-State player while at high school. He helped Auburn High School win the 7A state title during his senior year. Rivals had him listed as a four-star recruit coming out of high school.

Florida  State finished the season ranked No. 6 nationally in offense with 472 yards per game, and ranked No. 22 nationally in scoring offense averaging 33 points per game. Despite solid recruiting rankings, the Seminoles only won five games last season.

Joiner will either enter the season as a starter or be added as quality depth to an offensive line that must play at a high level for Florida State to have a chance to compete against what is a tough ACC schedule.

Florida State opens training camp on July 30 and will open the season at home against New Mexico State on August 29.
