Florida State has taken its search for talent to the West Coast. Athlete Makai Buchanan, a 2029 recruit, has received an offer from the Seminoles.

"After a great conversation with @Coach2Bless @TeamKamMartin i’m blessed to receive an offer from Florida State," said Buchanan on social media.

Despite being a freshman, Buchanan has around 40 scholarship offers on the table. The Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Miami Hurricanes, Oregon Ducks, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oklahoma Sooners, Ole Miss Rebels, and more have also extended scholarships to him.

A very productive freshman season playing multiple positions is why Buchanan is already so sought-after. He racked up 698 rushing yards on 95 carries and scored eight touchdowns, and he went over 100 yards three times. Buchanan also produced 232 yards on 15 receptions and added another score.

Buchanan has taken several visits as well. He took a trip to see the USC Trojans in November of 2025. In January, he visited the UCLA Bruins. USC hosted Buchanan again on March 24, and two days later, he visited the Ohio State Buckeyes.

At the moment, Buchanan isn't a ranked prospect.
