Florida football is favored to land 2028 Top 100 wide receiver Tyree Mannings Jr., according to a new Rivals prediction machine projection from On3. The outlet's recruiting insider Blake Alderman logs the prediction as Florida looks to be in prime position to lure the Venice, Florida, native to Gainesville.

The Gators hope to carry the momentum from a highly ranked 2027 recruiting class into the 2028 cycle, and the latest projection reflects growing confidence in their chances. Florida and Auburn currently sit atop the field in the pursuit of Mannings. Nebraska, Oregon and USC are also heavily involved with the 6-foot, 170-pound talent. Mannings told On3 that Florida made a major impression during his first visit to the Swamp this summer.

Wide receivers coach Marcus Davis was the first college coach to contact Mannings Jr. after NCAA rules permitted coaches to contact 2028 prospects on June 15. The Venice High School standout expects to attend Florida's season opener against FAU on Sept. 5.

Securing another elite pass catcher to go along with 2027 commits four-star prospect Elias Pearl and four-star top-200 receiver Tramond Collins would further strengthen the cycle's national ranking. Florida currently sits at No. 8 on 247Sports composite team standings after pinning 25 total commitments.

The Gators have prioritized adding explosive skill position players to fuel new offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner's attack. As the program seeks to reinvent itself in the Sumrall era, building a roster capable of competing with other star-studded SEC powers is crucial. Keeping one of the state's premier talents home would be a significant victory for Sumrall and his staff.

Tyree Mannings Jr. recruiting summary

Manning is ranked as the No. 88 overall prospect and No. 13 wide receiver nationally in the 2028 class, according to Rivals industry rankings, with 247Sports composite also having him at Nos. 88 and 13. Florida holds an overwhelming edge over the competition for his services with a 91.7% chance of earning his commitment.

Manning has 23 total offers, including eight other SEC programs; among them are Georgia, LSU and Auburn.
