It was no secret weather was going to play a big factor in the Saturday, Oct. 10 schedule of games, but a slightly unexpected game got struck in the early window.

Florida and South Carolina were delayed at halftime by lightning in Gainesville, with the Gamecocks holding a 17-10 lead.

Florida football's post on X, formerly Twitter, did not specify any kind of time for resumption. It instead said updates would be coming along.

3:05 p.m.: Florida and South Carolina are out of weather delay, and play will resume after a 10-minute warmup period.

2:20 p.m.: Florida vs South Carolina officially goes into weather delay with South Carolina up 17-10 at halftime, Florida football announces.

Gainesville is being hit by inclement weather, with the temperature hovering in the high 80s and a 90% chance of precipitation, per the National Weather Service.

While showers are certainly on the docket, thunderstorms are as well. While the rain should get more disbursed as the day wears on, it will also get heavier.
