Florida's Jadan Baugh earns spot on Maxwell Award watch list

Today, the Maxwell Football Club announced the 2026 Maxwell Award preseason watch list, and on the list featured Jadan Baugh.
Presented annually since 1937, the Maxwell Award recognizes college football's player of the year. The honor is named after former Swarthmore star, sportswriter and football official Robert "Tiny" Maxwell.
This is an honor that comes after Baugh started in all 12 games for the Gators and led the way with 1,170 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on a total of 220 carries. Baugh also contributed 21 receptions for 185 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Last season was special for Baugh as he ran for 266 yards against Florida State, marking the second-most in a game and the most against Florida State in program history. Baugh also surpassed the 1,000 rushing yard mark in that game, becoming the 10th Gator to rush for over 1,000 yards and the third underclassman to surpass the mark, joining Emmitt Smith in 1987 and Errict Rhett in 1991.
Baugh's historic 2025 season saw him earn All-SEC Second Team honors at the end of the season.
