Florida's Jadan Baugh is Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week

Jadan Baugh continues to rack up accolades this season, as the National College Football Awards Association has named him Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week.

Week 4 is the first time Baugh has received the honor, despite posting numbers that have kept him consistently in the Heisman Trophy race. The All-SEC running back has helped lead the Gators to one of the most potent offenses for the program in recent memory.

He contributed to Florida's highest-ranked win in 11 years and scored the most points (52) against a top-five team since 1996. Baugh ran all over Ole Miss, recording 142 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries. His performance against the Rebels was also his fourth straight game with at least 135 rushing yards and multiple touchdowns.

Baugh has been on a historic run since last season. In his last five games, he has rushed for over 100 yards in each contest, something that only Fred Taylor and Emmitt Smith have done.

If he continues this dominant pace, Baugh could break the program record for rushing yards and the SEC record for rushing touchdowns in a season. The Florida running back has 11 rushing touchdowns and 600 yards through four games.

His 600 yards in four games make him the fastest Gator to reach that mark, and his 11 rushing touchdowns tie him with Najee Harris (2020) and Leonard Fournette (2015) for the most scores through four games by an SEC player since 1992, when the conference expanded.
