The Florida Gators are done with the cupcakes and will turn to their SEC schedule when they go on the road to play Auburn on Saturday.
It remains to be seen if a key wide receiver will play in the Gators' SEC opener.
Per Justin Hokanson of On3, Eric Singleton is questionable to play against Auburn. He was limited in practice on Monday.
"Florida coach Jon Sumrall says WR Eric Singleton is out of his boot but remains questionable for Saturday's game at Auburn," Hokanson posted on X.
"Sumrall said Singleton was "very limited" in practice Monday morning and said there is a chance he plays, but he's not ready to guarantee it."
Singleton, a transfer from Auburn, recorded no receptions for Florida after suffering an ankle injury against FAU. He missed Florida's 52-3 win over Campbell in Week 2.
Florida's quarterbacks combined to throw for 300 yards against the Fighting Camels. Quarterback Aaron Philo tossed a pair of touchdowns in the win. Dallas Wilson led the Gators with 104 yards and a score on five receptions.
Vernell Brown II leads Florida in receptions this season with 160 yards and two touchdowns on nine receptions.
The Gators would be better served with Singleton on the field. He would give Florida a dynamic trio of receivers, which could help boost an already potent rushing attack.
Jadan Baugh has carried the ball 28 times for 296 yards and five touchdowns through the Gators’ first two games.
Florida offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner has been itching to get Singleton on the field this season. The two worked together at Georgia Tech before Singleton transferred to Auburn.
"I tell him all the time, he's one of the smarter players that I've ever gotten the opportunity to coach," Faulkner said, via the Gators.
"Super intelligent, he knows the game. And so, at this point, I'm just challenging him to bring somebody with him. You know, bring one of those younger guys with him."
For now, it's unclear if Singleton will be available against the Tigers. If he doesn't play, Singleton could make a return when Florida hosts No. 8 Ole Miss on Sept. 26.
