Football: 2027 safety Landon Johnson flips from Louisiana Tech to TCU

TCU football has flipped 2027 defensive back prospect Landon Johnson from Louisiana Tech. Johnson, who had committed to the Bulldogs in early May, changed his pledge to the Horned Frogs after a visit to the TCU campus in June. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder from Baton Rouge becomes the seventh member of the 2027 class. Johnson, who plays high school football at Madison Prep Academy, totaled 21 tackles, eight pass breakups, five tackles for loss and three interceptions along during his junior season. Johnson plays offense and defense for Madison Prep.

Johnson’s offensive stats from 2025 include 1,517 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions at quarterback. He rushed 70 times for 487 yards and six touchdowns (6.96 yards per carry) and recorded 25 catches for 498 yards and nine touchdowns. He handled punt return duties also, scoring three touchdowns. His offers include Old Dominion, UNLV, Rice, McNeese, Arkansas State and Southern.
