Texas A&M’s 2026 coaching staff is all but complete after third-year head coach Mike Elko elevated five coaches, including wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins, as the new offensive coordinator, and defensive assistant Lyle Hemphill as Jay Bateman’s replacement as defensive coordinator, which looked like the plan all along.

While all the major coaching additions are finished, it’s well known that you can never have enough offensive and defensive assistants, especially with two first-year coordinators leading the way. Entering the coaching ranks is always challenging, but for former players, gaining early experience as an assistant coach can lead to better opportunities down the road.

On Tuesday, TexAgs analyst Ryan Brauninger reported that former Texas A&M wide receiver Devin Price, the son of renowned former Aggie defensive line coach, the late Terry Price, who played two seasons at Texas A&M, will reportedly join Texas A&M’s coaching staff as an entry-level offensive assistant

After two seasons with the Aggies, Price graduated from Texas A&M in 2023 while finishing his playing career at FAU and Ole Miss during his final two collegiate seasons.

Looking to follow in his father’s footsteps, Price will join an established offensive coaching staff and will now work under Holmon Wiggins and several experienced offensive assistants, including former Coastal Carolina OC Drew Hollingshead.
